Castell d'Or

Castell d'Or is the legacy of the very first cooperatives established in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Castell d'Or consists of a collaboration of 16 wineries in different viticultural regions of the Penedès, Baix Penedès, Conca de Barberà, Alt Camp, Tarragona and Lleida.  All these affiliated winemaking families have been cultivating vines for more than 100 years to produce wines and cavas of quality and character together, from generation to generation. These wineries, with a history of more than a century, decided to join forces and share their knowledge of the processes of viticulture, winemaking, bottling and distribution of top-quality wines, cavas and olive oils. At the same time, they are now able to serve a large consumer market with an excellent quality-price ratio.

They offer, among other things, an extraordinary, award-winning Flama d'Or cava range. The secret behind Flama d'Or is the exceptional quality and balance between the three main grape varieties: Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Parellada with the local Trepat grape sometimes also being used. These are perfectly adapted to the Penèdes region and its Mediterranean climate. The winemakers emphasize meticulous quality, starting with the sustainable management of the vineyards to wine production, ageing and final production. The result is an elegant, balanced range of cavas of exceptional quality.
