Alcohol-free distilled: what is it?

From a legal point of view, we cannot actually speak of non-alcoholic spirits. Spirits are defined within the European Union as drinks containing at least 15% alcohol. The same definition also stipulates that the drink must be produced by "distilling fermented products and / or processing plant materials into ethyl alcohol, or by adding flavours, sugars or other sweeteners or other agricultural products to ethyl alcohol." Put simply, the end product should always contain alcohol. However, since non-alcoholic spirits are very similar in appearance, taste and the way they are drunk to their alcoholic equivalent, most people simply speak of non-alcoholic spirits. How these non-alcoholic spirits are made differs per drink. Sometimes a small percentage of alcohol (maximum 0.5%) remains in the final result. If you absolutely do not want or are not allowed to drink alcohol, we advise you to filter the range on 0.0% alcohol.
